It is through their tireless commitment that we have been able to make a difference in the lives of individuals impacted by dementia.Over the past three years we have been able to reach out to over 50,000 residents in Calhoun and surrounding counties through educational programs. It has been a great opportunity to share how the technology pieces can benefit a loved one as well as the caregiver. More than 400 individuals in the state of Michigan have now been returned home safely because of the Help Home program or other safe return devices. Results are impressive including greater peace of mind for those impacted by dementia but also a significant reduction in health care costs. We are pleased to donate 20% of our local efforts to Michigan State University targeting prevention and early stage research. Together, we are working hard to change the trajectory of dementia. As part of our commitment to local research programs we will be presenting the 2026 research update on May 12 at the Kool Family Center in downtown Battle Creek. Presenters include Scott Counts, Ph.D., Graham Atkin, Ph.D, and two doctoral students from MSU. They will collectively focus on what is new in the field of prevention research, diagnosis, and treatment of dementia. The presenters are pleased to respond to your questions as well so be sure to bring your list. Miles for Memories safe return devices will be available as well as additional programs offered by local organizations. There is no cost to attend but we do need you to RSVP by calling (269) 979-1412 and leaving a message. All you need to do is leave a message and we will add you to the list.
