The difference you make, makes all the difference. In my role at Senior Health Partners, I speak to many and try to provide this feedback often; however, I do not speak with a fraction of the family caregivers that are in our community. I wanted to start the year off by saying you truly are a gift to someone else and you are not just helping the person, you help the whole community. You might ask how I help the community? This is how %u2013 you allow community members to stay in their own homes, you provide personal care services that would not be provided otherwise, you keep community members more active and engaged, and this list could go on and on. Just taking a moment to remember the benefits you are giving to someone helps us all to see the value you give.To start 2025, I want to say %u2018Thank You%u2019 for all you do for the benefit of not just one person but to the community. You are a blessing and a valuable part of making the world a better place.May 2025 be an amazing year for you and all the lives you touch!STARTING THANKFULWe typically end the year giving out thank you%u2019s and showing our gratitude to those who have made a difference in our life, in one way or another. This thought really made me wonder, why don%u2019t we start the year off writing about the difference and stating our gratitude at the beginning rather than waiting until the end? With the snowy weather we have had and thinking about those who are providing so much love (whether you love someone you are helping or not) and care, making a difference in someone else%u2019s life is truly a gift for the receiver. Do you ever really stop and think about the gift this is? I say this because many times we are almost on %u201cauto pilot%u201d in our day-to-day and do not really think about it.We get so busy with life; we neglect to really digest the beauty of what family caregiving is all about. Take a moment to think about some of the value you provide for someone else such as the ability to stay in their own home, creating a clean environment, making sure someone has a bite to eat, or can take their trash outside. To many of us these are tasks we do without thinking, but to others these are tasks that allow them to keep their independence or make their day a little brighter. YOU make their life better just by being there to help.It seems that family caregivers (and professionals for that matter) are not always shown enough appreciation or Improving Lives Of SeniorsBranch CountyBy: Pat Fosdick, Senior TimesBRANCH COUNTY COMMISSIONON AGING %u2013 In-Home Services and Home Delivered Meals continues to meet the needs.
