The glittering decorations may have already been put aside for another year. The gift-giving has subsided and given way to celebrating the potential that a new year offers as you read this. But for many, the world is still dark. Mideast wars continue to threaten the peace of the world. Drug addiction and fentanyl poisoning still imprisons and kills thousands in America. Hatred still imprisons the hearts of persons who have been hurt intentionally or unintentionally for a million reasons. Fear of the future and what we might not have rules the minds of the faithless. And yet, on the Christian calendar, the season of Christmas is still with us! The light is still shining in the darkness! There are 12 days between December 25 and Epiphany (celebrating the star of Bethlehem and the Magi that visit the Christ Child and give Him the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh). And I propose to you that, %u201cthe glass is half-full.%u201dSo, in spite of everything that appears to be going wrong in the 395 S.
